EHRAC statement on the second anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine

It is two years since the Russian Federation launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and a decade since it invaded Crimea. Ukrainians continue to suffer serious human rights violations, on a daily basis.

In the face of Russian aggression and the dire human rights situation in Ukraine, EHRAC continues to provide support to our partners in Ukraine, as they gather evidence, challenge crimes and human rights violations, and pursue accountability.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to combating egregious human rights violations through law. We continue to champion justice, litigating cases through the available international mechanisms, to bring perpetrators to justice, and ensure redress for victims and their families.

As we mark these anniversaries, there is an ongoing need for the international human rights system to demonstrate it is fit for purpose, that it can adapt to the specific challenges of this conflict, and deliver genuine accountability in a timely manner.
