EHRAC and partners urge European Court to examine discrimination inherent in Russia’s handling of sexual violence complaints
On 29 January 2020, EHRAC, together with the Equal Rights Trust and Equality Now, submitted a third-party intervention to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in a case in which the applicant was repeatedly and brutally raped by her ex-husband, urging the Court to examine the State's handling of rape complaints and their investigation under the right to non-discrimination (Article 14 of the European Convention of Human Rights) and to adhere to consent-based definitions of rape.

Manipulated phone recording causes Georgian politician’s unfair trial
On 10 October 2019, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) ruled that a Georgian politician was denied a fair trial when in 2006 the Government leaked an allegedly manipulated version of an intercepted telephone conversation between him and a leader of an armed group to the Rustavi 2 TV station.

Georgian transgender man denied legal gender recognition lodges application at European Court of Human Rights
Nikolo Ghviniashvili understood that he was male from a very young age. Since his twenties, Nikolo – who was registered as female at birth – has lived permanently as a man. He has undergone hormone treatment, bringing his physical appearance into conformity with his male identity. Nikolo's family all accept that he is a man. But the Georgian authorities refuse to do so.
