Violations of the ECHR in the Chechen Republic: Russia’s compliance with the European Court’s judgements


Following three judgements against Russia in 2005, the Committee of Minsiters’ secretariat prepared a memorandum to assist in the execution of these cases. Whilst the memorandum welcomes a number of steps taken by the Russian authorities, it also highlights further measures which need to be satisfied, including the improvement of domestic remedies and the provision of training activities for members of the security forces.
