Massacre in Novye Aldy
“We had been under bombardment for so long; we kept thinking that it would soon be over! Russians would come and all this would be over!”
5 February 2015 marked the 15th anniversary of the massacre in Novye Aldy (a small village located in the suburbs of Grozny, Chechnya) when civilians were killed, and houses were looted and set on fire during a ‘mop up’ operation conducted by the Russian military.
