Human rights defenders and journalists in Russia: how many deaths will it take?


The risks facing journalists and human rights defenders in Russia today are substantial, with 16 journalists killed since 2000. Despite condemnation of the murders and assurances that the preptrators will be brought to justice, the political will to investigate these crimes appears to be lacking.
