Finance and Grants Officer

The European Human Rights Advocacy Centre (EHRAC), based at Middlesex University in London, is inviting applications for the position of Finance and Grants Officer.

We are seeking a grants and finance officer to manage project grants from a range of funders including the European Commission. You will be responsible for ensuring that all of our work is in compliance with our donors’ financial requirements and the policies and procedures at Middlesex University, and meets audit standards.

EHRAC is based within the School of Law at Middlesex University and works in partnership with NGOS and human rights lawyers in Russia, Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan jointly litigating at the European Court of Human Rights and other international mechanisms.

You will ensure that all income and expenditure in the UK and overseas is accounted for and effectively managed, that financial procedures and processes are followed and that financial documents and records are maintained in an audit-ready state. You will be responsible for providing timely and accurate reports on expenditure and forecasts to support strategic planning and decision making by the EHRAC management team.

You will have experience of working in an international context, ideally for an NGO, and have an accountancy or financial management qualification or equivalent experience.

This role is offered initially on a two year contract (renewable) and is offered as a 4 or 5 day a week post.
