Our Annual Report
We continue to develop successful partnerships with lawyers from Ukraine and the South Caucasus, to challenge serious human rights violations.
In 2025, our work focused on the erosion of fundamental freedoms and accountability for conflict and security force violations.
Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine has resulted in serious human rights violations on a scale not seen in Europe in this century. It has also slowed the process of reform within Ukraine.
In Azerbaijan, the regime’s crackdown on dissent entered a second decade. Civil society has been extinguished, independent media destroyed.
Georgia, meanwhile, stands on the precipice. The authorities are limiting free expression and punishing legitimate protest, while sanctioning violence and fuelling hate. Journalists, opposition politicians and other dissenting voices are being imprisoned, while civil society organisations are being persecuted for pursuing accountability.
