Rights in Psychiatric care: implementation of Shtukaturov v Russia



The 2008 ECtHR decision in the case of Shtukaturov v Russia, which found violations of Articles 5, 6 and 8, shed greater light on the issue of mental disability and the nascent mental disability rights movement in Russia. The judgement inferred the need for large-scale amendments to a number of legislative acts including the Civil Code.
