Report on unofficial places of detention in the Chechen Republic


In May 2006, the International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights (IHF) released a report entitled Unofficial Places of Detention in the Chechen Republic. The report alleges that there still exist numerous unofficial detention centres throughout Chechnya, dating back to the Chechen conflicts. Soon afterwards, Memorial Human Rights Centre issued a report alleging the existence of one such centre in Grozny.
