Remedies for human rights violations in Chechnya: The approach of the European Court in context
The ECtHR has thus far handed down over 70 judgements finding Russia guilty of violations relating to the armed conflict in Chechnya. However, the remedies provided have not always been sufficient to make good the violations suffered by the applicants, particularly in respect of just satisfaction, establishment of facts and execution of judgements.
