Ending Police Brutality in Bulgaria
By the end of 2011, the European Court of Human Rights had heard 27 cases relating to police brutality in Bulgaria, finding violations of the Convention in 26 of them, as a result of legislation permitting the use of force and firearms by police even when not strictly necessary.
