CERD concluding observations on the Russian Federation
In its concluding observations on the 18th and 19th periodic reports of the Russian Federation from February 2002 to July 2006, the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination noted a number of positive aspects, including substantial voluntary contributions to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. However, its list of concerns is rather longer, based on the rise in ethnically motivated violence and discriminatory police conduct amongst others.
