In these cases, GYLA sought to invoke the responsibility of the Russian Federation before the European Court. The cases included:<\/p>\n<div class=\"primary\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>one application<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>on behalf of 19 persons<\/strong>, living in the village of Dvani, affected by barbed wire fences built by the \u201cRussian border-guards\u201d;<\/li>\n<li><strong>six applications on behalf of 18 persons<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>with respect to detentions at the \u201cdividing line\u201d by Russian and Ossetian militaries, due to \u201cillegal crossing\u201d of the \u201cborder\u201d;<\/li>\n<li><strong>53 applications on behalf of around 400 persons<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>affected by the August War;<\/li>\n<li><strong>two applications on behalf of 13 persons<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>with respect to deportation of persons of Georgian ethnicity and nationality from the Russian Federation in 2006.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/tbinternet.ohchr.org\/Treaties\/CCPR\/Shared%20Documents\/RUS\/INT_CCPR_CSS_RUS_19637_E.docx\">shadow report submitted to the UN Human Rights Committee with respect to the Russian Federation<\/a>\u00a0(for the 16 March 2015 Session of the Committee) was also discussed at the conference. The shadow report refers to the responsibility of the Russian Federation with respect to violations conducted by Russian and Ossetian military forces during the August War and its aftermath.<\/p>\n<p>The issue of investigation by the Georgian prosecution authorities, as well as those of the Russian Federation, with respect to violations committed during the August War 2008 was also considered.
