Following\u00a0the high-level conference<\/a>\u00a0by the Council of Europe states in Brussels yesterday, six NGOs have submitted a\u00a0joint response<\/a>\u00a0to the draft Declaration on \u2018The Implementation of the European Court of Human Rights, Our Joint Responsibility<\/a>\u2018. The final draft is due to be adopted today. In it, the NGOs\u00a0\u2013\u00a0EHRAC, Open Society Justice Initiative, Amnesty International, The AIRE Centre, Judgment Watch and the International Commission of Jurists \u2013 express their regret that the Declaration\u00a0\u2018does not set out the specific measures that states and the Committee of Ministers should take to improve implementation<\/em>\u2018<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>They include ten specific action points to be completed by June 2016.<\/p>\n

EHRAC also took part in an official side event, \u2018Implementation of Convention Rights and Judgments: The Key Role of NGOs and NHRIs\u2019, at which Prof. Philip Leach and representatives from The AIRE Centre and Open Society Justice Initiatives\u00a0spoke. The event was attended by about 100 people.<\/p>\n
