Where we work

The European Human Rights Advocacy Centre (EHRAC) was founded in 2003 to litigate cases of gross human rights violations arising from the Chechen conflict in Russia at the European Court of Human Rights, in partnership with Memorial Human Rights Centre.

Map of our target region
  • In 2006 we extended support to NGOs and lawyers in Georgia to take cases of human rights violations occurring as a result of hostilities with Russia.
  • In 2010, EHRAC developed legal partnerships in Azerbaijan;
  • In 2012, we began to litigate cases from Armenia.
  • We expanded our remit to Ukraine in 2014, in response to Russia’s annexation of Crimea and the conflict in the Donbas region.
